Your choice: Ping G15 irons or G20

Ping is constantly upgrading and designing new ideas in their onlne golf clubs, such as the “G” and “K” lines. Many players are curiously waiting for the next generation of the G15’s, the G20, because they are looking forward to improve their game. The G20 series are said to be introduced in August 2011 at the PGA Tour’s St. Jude Classic. But they are available now on the market. Do you think G20 Irons Will Surpass G15 Irons?

Similar and improvement:

1.They Have Similar Looks With G15 Irons But Still Different

As for looks, apparently they are very similar to the Ping G15 Irons, with a slightly darker red and more satin finish. The adjustable lie on the G20 is two degrees flatter than the G15’s. A more curved look to it than the G15’s with a new soft layer on the back to help with sound, feel and vibrations.

2.Thinner Face Will Add Forgiveness

The thinner face of the Ping G20 Irons helps position weight to the toe for added forgiveness. The wider sole provides a higher launch angle. Strong lofts and a low center of gravity produce long shots with a high trajectory and maximum forgiveness.

3.New Custom Tuning Port Expands Perimeter Weighting and Increases MOI

Ping G20 Irons features a new Custom Tuning Port which expands perimeter weighting and increases MOI. The steel shafts also look new, with more evenly spaced steps than the traditional AWT shafts, with a unique and interesting feel.

4.A Nice Cross Between The G15 and K15 Model

The Ping G20 Irons feature some added weight on the back end of the iron set that they stole from the tip/hosel section. It sits well and square, with a lower face height and sleeker look. It was described as a nice cross between the G15 and K15 model.

How I feel when I hit the G20 irons compared G15?

1.The G20’s are a pretty nive looking club up close IMO. The badge/CTP has some heft to it and seems to have more weight than the one on the G15.

2.The G20 felt noticably lighter than the my G15 irons. The shaft certainly felt lighter. The club was actually easier to swing as well.

3.The sole of the G20 was very close to the same size as the G15. At least I could not tell that much of a difference. If I had to lean one way, I would say it was a bit narrower.

4.I even did the fingernail test to see if the grooves were different and they seemed to be the same depth on both models.

5. Swinging the G20 was a breeze. I could tell the weight was certainly different and the club certainly launched the ball higher. Was hitting into a white net and could tell where the ball was hitting. I was consistently a little higher with the G20. Not too much, but I could tell.

6. Feel: I was actually surprised at how the G20 felt. I was one who was wondering how PING would improve on the G15. I certainly could tell the iron was softer when making contact with ball. Perhps this was due to the materinal used on the back of the club head that dappens vibration. Whatever it was, it worked. The club swing smoothly from front to back.

7. Distance: As I mentioned I could not tell, however the G15 still felt good to me and althought I hit the G20 a bit higher that may not translate into more distance. I have tried many irons and consistently hit my 8 iron right at 135 yards.

8. Advantage: I guess getting the ball up quicker and softer feel it goes to the new G20. Consistency, familairity and distance I would probably stick with my trusted G15’s. I will be going to another store this weekend to test these out on a monitor to check distances. If I hit the G20’s five yards longer I would prob stick with the 15’s. I just dont see me hitting them 10 yards longer. I will let you know.

Woods Duo Stumbles, but U.S. Shines in Presidents Cup

MELBOURNE, Australia — Tiger Woods and his former caddie, Steve Williams, shook hands on the first tee. It was shocking when they shook hands again only 12 holes later after America’s dynamic duo got drubbed.

The team of Steve Stricker and Tiger Woods, who went 4-0 in the last Presidents Cup as partners, lost 7 and 6 on Thursday to K.J. Choi and Adam Scott. After the most lopsided match-play Ping K15 Driver defeat of Woods’s career, United States captain Fred Couples decided to pair Stricker and Woods with different partners for Friday’s fourballs.

Despite the setback in the anchor match, the U.S. won three matches comfortably and rallied to halve two others and claim a 4-2 lead after the first day of play.

The pairing of Woods and Stricker, one of golf’s true odd couples, had been producing sweet music like Sonny and Cher. Woods remains the face of the game, the man who moves the needle and turns heads, despite all his struggles. Then there is Steve Stricker, an unassuming, 44-year-old Midwesterner, the big cheese only in his birthplace of Edgerton, Wis., population 5,286, where signs on both of the main entrances into town welcome visitors to the Home of Steve Stricker. His father-in-law and longtime TaylorMade Burner 2.0 Irons, Dennis Tiziani, likes to joke that Stricker’s primary demographic is women over 60.

Despite the differences, Stricker and Woods won their first six matches as partners, fashioning a nearly unbeatable record together in the last two international competitions. They were expected to play a lead role if the United States is to defend the Presidents Cup, which runs through Sunday.

Their match was over early. Choi’s accuracy off the tee set up Scott’s iron play. They made four birdies, won three holes with par, and closed out the match when Choi rolled in a 7-foot birdie putt on the 12th hole.

Stricker and Woods failed to make a birdie and were the only team that didn’t win a single hole. The 7 and 6 loss tied the worst defeat in Presidents Cup history.

“They didn’t play their best,” Scott said.

Woods said he and Stricker never could apply any pressure.

“They got off to a quick start, and we just couldn’t keep up,” Woods said. “This golf course is so difficult, it’s hard to make up shots on it.”

There were fears that the Woods-Stricker tandem would be separated for another reason besides poor play Mizuno MP-69 Irons. Heading into the Presidents Cup, Stricker had weakness in his left arm and hand caused by a herniated disk in his neck. He withdrew from the BMW Championship and had been sidelined since the Tour Championship in September. Two days before the Cup matches began, Stricker called the injury “a non-issue.”

But Stricker looked rusty in Thursday’s fourballs, hooking his tee shot into trouble on the second hole, which cost the team the hole. Stricker’s short game didn’t look sharp either. His greenside bunker shot at the par-3 5th hole trickled into the front bunker. Even Stricker’s putting prowess abandoned him.

Titleist AP1 712 Irons vs Titleist AP2 712 Irons

The new AP1 and AP2 irons deliver an industry leading combination of performance, looks and feel. They feature our most advanced multi-material designs which deliver superior distance control through increased moment-of-inertia (MOI) which also provides outstanding solid feel.

Building upon the high technology design and resounding success of the original AP irons, Titleist AP1 712 Irons introduces the new high performance AP1 irons for avid golfers. The Titleist AP1 are multi-material, dual cavity irons that take the design mission of “Advanced Performance You Can Feel” to new heights.

The new Tuned Feel System is a co-molded medallion of soft elastomer and aluminum plate. This insert has been specifically designed to improve the sound and feel of each new iron. For the thinner face, larger cavity AP1 a hotter, more lively feel has been enhanced.

The thin face with integrated aluminum and soft elastomer Tuned Feel System in the back cavity improves sound and feel at impact for a hotter, more lively feel.  Thin face, dual cavity design pushes weight to the perimeter for a hotter face and flight.

The new titleist AP2 712 irons, which are designed for low handicappers,Titleist has significantly increased the club’s moment of inertia (MOI) by re-positioning tungsten weight within the heads. The overall goal was to better apply the different materials used in the design.
Titleist has always been about tradition and seem to always be going after the better player. The New Titleist 712 AP2 Irons are more forgiving and more disctance control. It gives the AP2 player more consistent ball speed over a larger area of the face.
In addition, we have made appearance improvements to these two online golf clubs.

Woods Moves Into Lead at Australian Open

SYDNEY (AP) — Tiger Woods walked off the golf course to see his name atop the leaderboard Friday in the Australian Open. Even more pleasing to him was the way he got there.

With control of his shots and comfortable over the Ping G20 Driver, Woods put together his best back-to-back rounds of the year with a 5-under 67 that gave him a one-shot lead among the early starters in the second round.

If it holds up at the end of the day, it would be his first time in the lead after any round since the third day of the Chevron World Challenge last year, and the first time against a full field since his last win two years ago in the Australian Masters. Woods was tied for the first-round lead at The Barclays last year.

“I really played well,” Woods said. “Even though I shot 5 under, it felt it could have been 8 or 9 deep.”

He was at 9-under 135, one shot clear of a familiar name in these parts, and to Woods. Peter O’Malley is a member at The Lakes and birdied his last two holes for a 66. O’Malley is memorable to some golf fans in the United States as the No. 64 seed who beat Woods in the opening round of the Match Play Championship at La Costa in 2002.

Jason Day, who played alongside Woods, managed to limit the damage from a few wayward shots and had a 68 to finish two behind.

Jarrod Lyle, the 18-hole leader, was among those who played Ping G20 in the afternoon.

Robert Allenby, who has played with Woods many times over the years, saw a game that was starting to look vaguely familiar.

“Probably in the last six months, that’s the best I’ve seen him play Ping Anser Forged Irons,” Allenby said. “I’ve seen him at his absolute best … that was a different human being. He’s on his way back, that’s for sure.

“I think where he is right now is good enough to win. I think you’ll find if he keeps going the way he is going, he’ll win over the weekend.”

Woods has hit plenty of crisp shots, but if there was one that showed an increasing confidence in his swing, it came toward the end of the round on the par-5 eighth. He was in the middle of the fairway, 280 yards from the hole and facing a 15 mph wind. The shot was pure, a bullet with the slightest fade to skirt a bunker and roll onto the green.

Latest and Greatest TaylorMade R11 Clubs

More and more golfer have high requirements on their cheap golf clubs. However, these kinds of golf clubs are really expensive and hard to find out. But I would like to tell you that it is necessary for you to purchase the golf equipments in this harvest season. There are wide ranges of discount golf clubs for sale at this time.

The more a driver is tuned to you, the farther you’ll hit it. With the TaylorMade R11 Driver, you can independently tune loft, face angle and flight path to your swing to maximize your distance. With the high development of technology, the R11 Driver can meet with your requirements easily. The TaylorMade R11 Driver is the latest and greatest from the makers of the No. 1 driver in golf. It is designed with a new, modern-classical clubhead shape intended to suit the eye of better players, while still providing forgiveness and confidence for average players.

The triangular shape creates more inertia and a deeper back CG position for greater stability and forgiveness. The shape is more contemporary appearance than traditional drivers, and slightly triangular to create a modern yet classical address silhouette. TaylorMade R11 Irons is usually classically beautiful using simple and traditional appearance built to meet quality efficiency.

The advance buzz about the Left Handed TaylorMade R11 driver focused mostly on the white crown and black clubface. It’s a look that will provide a “wow” factor for some golfers, but one that, according to the company, also serves a purpose. The white color makes the 440cc clubhead appear slightly larger, TaylorMade says, and provides a greater contrast to the turf to make aiming easier – an advantage more pronounced in lower light conditions, according to the company.

Callaway RAZR X Irons vs Left Handed Callaway RAZR X HL irons

The Callaway RAZR X Irons is a game-improvement iron that has a huge hitting area. The club designers at Callaway have apparently heard the complaints and they have been doing everything in their power to build clubs that better players under the age of 40 would love. Simply put, when I address the ball, I want to look down at a sleek club that evokes confidence, not one that rattles me with thoughts that I’m about to hit Fred Flinstone’s sticks.

There’s less offset in the RAZR X Tour irons when compared with the RAZR X, but once again, because the CG has been driven so low and deep, Callaway strengthened the lofts of the RAZR X Tours. The Callaway RAZR X Tour irons (pictured right) do just that because the company made sure to put the extra weight where the player couldn’t see it at address, giving even the most forgiving club a streamlined appearance.

Most irons today are designed to maximize one specific performance benefit distance, forgiveness or feel while sacrificing all other critical areas needed to hit more greens. The Left Handed Callaway RAZR X HL irons creates tighter shots, shorter putts and lower scores through uncompromised performance.

To consistently hit it close and shoot lower scores, golfers need to be able to make shots from all areas of the golf course. That’s why RAZR Technology is such a breakthrough. This technology will lead the industry into the next generation of iron design by delivering the distance and forgiveness of a wide sole iron while retaining the playability and turf interaction advantages of a thin sole iron.

Titleist AP2 Irons Is Awesome

Titleist is quick to point out that the primary focus on these revisions was not only the usual performance advances, but feel. After hitting a few shots with the AP2 Irons, I started to see what they were talking about.

Balls struck with the Titleist AP2 felt quite softer than the cold weather and cavity-back design would have me led to believe they would. The golf clubs were rather forgiving but still told me where I’d struck the ball on the face. Though I didn’t care for the slightly thicker top line at first, I adjusted fairly quickly.

The concept for the original Advanced Performance irons arose as a result of research that indicated serious golfers want performance with great feel, not performance at the expense of feel. The Titleist R&D team’s advanced research group has been conducting extensive sound and vibration analysis aimed at reducing the harsh lower frequency vibration that causes poor feel in irons. This research led to combining several technologies and materials in the back cavity of the new AP irons resulting in a new Tuned Feel System to take feel to a new level.

The AP2 Irons‘ high-tech, multi-material construction features a steel body, tungsten nickel sole, elastomer bar and aluminum cavity plate. The Titleist AP2 Irons is built to deliver both performance and feel. The dual cavity design of the Titleist AP2 irons pushes weight to the perimeter for forgiveness. A central cross member featuring a soft elastomer cushion provides structural rigidity behind the impact area while also dampening face vibration for better overall feel.

The lower cavity of the Titleist AP2 iron (cheap golf clubs) is enclosed by a tungsten nickel box. This high-density material locates the weight low and deep while providing structural rigidity and low frequency vibration dampening for outstanding solid feel. The tungsten nickel box helps reduce the sole and back flange width for better turf performance and shot control.

NBA strife to keep Jordan from Presidents Cup

Michael Jordan will be unable to serve as an assistant captain for the U.S. Presidents Cup team in Australia due to the NBA’s continuing labor issues.

Jordan, who is majority owner of the Charlotte Bobcats, will be replaced by Champions Tour player John Cook, an 11-time PGA Tour winner who is also close with team member Tiger Woods. (PING G15 Driver)

“After careful consideration, it is with regret that I have decided to cancel my trip to Australia later this month for The Presidents Cup,” Jordan said in a statement released by the PGA Tour. “With the NBA labor situation unsettled, as the majority owner of the Charlotte Bobcats, I feel it is necessary that I remain in the country. It was an honor to have been chosen by Fred Couples to serve as a captain’s assistant. I wish Fred and the United States team the best of luck.”

“While the team will miss his friendship, spirit and leadership, we certainly understand the complexity of his current team obligations,” Couples said.

The NBA is in the midst of a lockout that has cost the league the first month of a season that was scheduled to begin on Tuesday.

Jordan has served in the role of honorary captain for Couples at the Presidents Cup played in San Francisco in 2009 and won by the United States over an international team led by Australia’s Greg Norman. (TaylorMade Burner SuperFast 2.0 Driver) The competition is similar to the Ryder Cup, with a squad of international players from outside of Europe taking on the Americans.

The only time the U.S. has lost the competition that began in 1994 was the last time it was played at Royal Melbourne in 1998.

When Couples was re-named to the post for this year, he again asked Jay Haas and Jordan to join him as assistants. Couples then chose Cook to replace the NBA Hall of Famer. (Titleist AP1 712 Irons)

Cook, who is playing in this week’s Charles Schwab Cup on the Champions Tour, will join Couples, Woods, Norman and several others participating in the Presidents Cup at next week’s Australian Open in Sydney. The Presidents Cup is Nov. 17-20.
