Ping G10 Iron Set Review

Description

The Ping 17-4 stainless steel Ping G10 irons are engineered with extreme low toe-weighting to increase the MOI (moment of inertia) for added forgiveness and consistency. The large, perimeter-weighted head features a new cavity shape and wider sole.

The center of gravity is positioned away from the face and low in the club head to promote higher launching, lower spinning shots. By creating a new shape for the Custom Tuning Port (CTP), Ping engineers stabilized the hitting area to produce consistent ball velocity across the entire club face. An elastomer CTP insert helps control vibration for a solid feel.

Features:
  1. Low toe-weighting for increased forgiveness
  2. Wide sole for high launch and forgiving ground impact
  3. Custom Tuning Port (CTP) technology stabilizes face for consistent distance control
  4. Elastomer CTP insert creates solid feel
  5. Ascending Weight Technology (AWT) shaft design

1.I owned a set a G5 iron I picked up used. I was playing them for about a year and was happy with them. One day I had some time so I stop in Edwin Watts Golf in Concord NC to get a Ping Fitting. It turned out my G5`s had a shaft that was much to light and the lie angle was wrong for my swing. After talking about changing shafts and lie angles I decided it would be better to trade in my G5`s and buy a new set of G10`s with the correct set up for my swing. EW had a new set for $449.00 not bad. Two days later a got to play and WOW. I spent about 15 mins on the range and right away I knew I was going to be a good day. I think getting fitted was the smartest move I ever made for my game. I shot a 82 with a few missing putts.

2.I bought these last October and I prefer to use any club awhile before I review them. After a short winter lay off I’m back playing again and the G-10s are serving me as well as they did last November. I do now vouch for them and I’m very happy I bought them. I wasn’t planning on buying new irons but with a sales price the result of the new G-15s coming out and the fact from the first hit I had to. I had developed a hook with my old Nikes the last two years I could never get rid of entirely. From the first time out with the  ping G-10 s it was gone. For that alone they were worth buying, but I hit them farther too which was a big surprise for I went back to the heavier steel shafts from graphite with the Slingshots. On top of that I hit a G-15 the other day at the local golf expo and I like my G-10s better which makes my sales price paid even sweeter. I almost bought the Ping G-2s instead of the Nike Slingshots in 2004, looking back I wish I would’ve

Just got my new set of G10 irons blue dot +1/2 AWT stiff steel w/ cushion. I couldn’t be happier!!! I’m a club junkie and have hit literally every iron out there and came to the conClusion that I love PING irons. I’ve played cobra and lately taylormade mostly but I’ve hit callaway a ton. The feel of the pings is unequalled. The callaway comes close but I like the construction ofthe stainless steel and the durability othe G10. some will say they don’t likethe looks I think they look sweet and different. Like everyone else pls go get fitted take five minutes and is worth it’s weight in gold. I’m 6′2 and played standard forever and adjusted my swing and now that I dont have to do that anymore I cant wait for the strokes to just come off. Get Fitted hit these clubs once and you’ll be hooked. And the cushions make them a D 2 swing weigh which i loved and the feel is awesome ever hit is soft. GET eM Ebay 350 bucks can’t beat it.
